Whether you’re settling into a new home or business, or you’re just ready for an upgrade, finding a new toilet to purchase can be a difficult experience –– there are simply too many options to choose from! And because your next toilet will stay with you for next couple of years, you want to make an informed decision. Let us tell you everything you need to know about shopping for toilets in the Los Angeles area.
Different toilet models
There are two main toilet models to choose from: one-piece toilets, and two-piece toilets. Most of the toilets we see in our day-to-day lives are two-piece toilets, with the bowl bolted to the tank. One of the advantages of going with a two-piece device is that they can be considerably cheaper.
One-piece toilets, as you can imagine, consist of a singular piece of equipment. There is no discernible difference in terms of function between the two, but an advantage of having a one-piece toilet is that they can be easier to clean.
Different toilet bowls
Another feature to consider when shopping for a new toilet is the shape and size of the bowl. There are two main options for your consideration: elongated and round bowls.
Elongated bowls are about 2 inches larger than round bowls and provide additional comfort. One thing to keep in mind is that, since they’re larger, elongated bowls are best for bathrooms with sufficient space.
Round bowls are, as the name suggests, round in shape. They are a great fit for smaller spaces and are typically more affordable than the alternatives.
Most bows are about 14 to 15 inches in height, though you can find taller bowls up to 16 to 19 inches –– about as tall as the average chair.
Dual-flush toilets
Dual-flush toilets are a new option available in the market. You’ve probably already encountered them: these toilets come with two silver buttons that you can press depending on what you’re trying to flush. For example, if you’re disposing of just liquids, there’s no need to flush down with significant amount of water.
In addition to being the latest craze, dual-flush toilets can save you water.
